Installin PureMessage for Unix - /opt/pmx7/bin/pmx-wfetch not found

Hello,

I'm trying to install PureMessage for Unix v6 on our Ubuntu Server.

When i try to run my SH script i get the error ./XXXXX-linux.sh: 420: ./XXXXX-linux.sh: /opt/pmx6/bin/pmx-wfetch: not found

./XXXXX-linux.sh: Can't fetch 'http://pmx-dynamic.sophos.com/pmx/v6/mainline/linux/pmx-setup-v6-linux'

and then it exits.

I checked permissions and everything, not sure if i missed something there. I also went and checkt the Firewall for any blocks or events that might cause the problem, nothing.

Anyone got an Idea and can help me out here?

Cheers

Julian

  • Hi Julian,

    A couple of things:

    1. support article 119019 says ubuntu 10.04 is supported for 32 or 64 bit, however see 2.

    2. support article 111256 says for ubuntu you need to install the ia32-libs package for compatability and also suggests looking at your /etc/hosts file

    3. you may be able to get better information with your install script by: sh -x ./install-file-scrript.sh This would output debug info for the script, which may help you

    4. Possibly try and re-download your installer file

I also verified the URL below and it downloads the pmx-setup-v6-linux binary. Can you use links or wget to retrieve this file?

  • Thank you Erric, that was exactly the problem. I installed the ia32-libs package and then i was able to start the Installation.
