Slow web browsing speeds

Having some troubles here..looking for some help. 

Currently I have the endpoint and the Virtual appliance for the web filter.  Install and config are done and I'm in the testing phase.   It seems like whenever i try to browse to a web page there is  a significant pause/delay.  You will see the top of the windows change the title to the page that you are trying to browse to but anywhere from 5-10 seconds later the page will actually change.  Even when it does, it still takes some time to load fully.   Once I uninstall all the software from the computer the browser it back to full speed and no issues.  I've talked to a few engineers but not answers....they are leaning towards a DNS issue...if i use 8.8.8.8 it does speed up...not 100% but good enough.   

Any ideas on how to resolve this problem?

    I have the same problem.

    Using the http://www.speedtest.net/, I have tested the connection speed of 2 different Sophos UTM 9 boxes that I have set up. Boh are connected to silimar services.

    For one, the download/upload numbers are 6.8Mbps / 2.5Mbps. For the second unit, the speeds are 0.5Mbps / 4.1Mbps.

    As you can gather from the tests, the second connection actually has better potential speed for downloads but is WAY slower. In fact, tests for the internet connection when not hooked up behind the Sophos is as high as the mid- 40Mbps.

    Can anyone help in figuring this out?
