Manually Send Seucre Email

Is there a way that an Outlook user can force an email to be sent securely?  For example, if they are sending names and birthdates and want to ensure that the email is secured, can they force it?

  • We have an "Additional Policy" that allows users to manually trigger a secure email.  In our setup, a user can type a keyword in the subject such as "confidential", or they can change the sensitivity property on the message to "confidential" and either of these methods will encrypt the message.

Create a new outbound rule under "Additional Policy".  Choose the rule type "Use only message attributes".  In the message attributes, select "Header" from the drop down box then in the Name box type "Sensitivity", click the "is" radio button, then for a value choose "company-confidential".  In the "Main Action" section, just the encryption option.

This will send the message for encryption if a user edits the sensitivity property when sending an email.

    Hope that helps.
