Unable to complete AD sync

New installation of Sophos Puremessage 3.1.0 installed on a Windows 2008 SP2 server with Exchange 2007 Edgesync role installed.

The configuration of the AD communication properties have been entered correctly and the verify is successfull, however when the Synchronize now button is clicked we always get "Synchronize failed! Unexpected error.".

I have confirmed that this server is the master server using the puremessage configeditor. However the problem still appears. The active directory is running in 2003 native mode with a 2008 R2 Schema applied. Cant imaging this being an issue as all this tool should need to see is the name and email attributes.

Also 389 an 636 are open between the Edgesync DMZ system and the 2008 DC.

Any ideas? Im at my wits end with this.

    This is now working.

    Removed the 3.1.0 x64 installation of puremessage and went back a version to the 3.0.2 x64 one.

    Synchronisation worked straight away without issue.

    Also tried a remove reinstall with the new version first but without luck.

    Seems the sync on the new version is broken.
