Sophos Outlook Add-In

Trying to install the Sophos Outlook Add-In using msiexec.

Here are the option I have set:

msiexec.exe /i c:\soa\SophosOutlookAddInSetup.msi /l* c:\soa\install_log.txt ENABLETYPE=3 ENCRYPTIONCONFIGURABLE=1  SETCONFIDENTIAL=1 ADDINTERNETHEADER=1 INTERNETHEADER="X-Sophos-SPX-Encrypt: yes" USERPREFCONFIGURABLE=1 SPAMEMAILADDRESSCONFIGURABLE=2 SPAMEMAILADDRESS="is-spam@labs.sophos.com" SPAMACTION=0 SAVESPAMREPORT=0 SHOWACKNOWLEDGEMENT=1

What I am trying to accomplish is to preset option with this customization.  What I want to do is enable both encryption and spam reporting, set sensitivity to "Confidential" Add Internet header "X-Sophos-SPX-Encrypt:yes", Delete SPAM Message upon submission, NOT save report in Sent Items and DO show the confirmation dialog box and report all SPAM to is-spam@labs.sophos.com

So one question is can someone verify and proofread my settings to make sure I have them set correctly.

The other questions is - when I did a test install on one workstation it did not take any of the settings.  It was as if it only installed with the default settings.  So I still had to go in and manually set the options I wanted.

Thanks!

  • I had created a batch that was stored on a network share on the server.  It copied the file from the server to the local PC and then was set to execute the file.  In my batch file as a test to keep things simple I was just using the setup.exe.  So I added the line to add the MSI file to run and execute and had not correctly remmed out or removed the setup.exe file from the batch file.  So it was running first which is with the default options set.  So once I removed the line executing the setup.exe file things worked as I had thought they should.  So my syntax on the MSI file were correct after all.

    Thanks for asking!
