Sophos Email Appliance 3.5.0.2 has been released

Sophos is pleased to announce the availability of new directory server support and Syslog integration for Sophos Email Appliances.

Now available: Support for multiple directory servers

As of the most recent 3.5.0.2 release, Sophos Email Appliances now have the ability to integrate with multiple LDAP-based directory servers such as Active Directory, Lotus Domino, Novell eDirectory, and more!

As your organization grows, consolidates, or acquires other organizations, it may be impossible to realize a single centralized IT infrastructure and directory service.  With simple wizard-based configuration Sophos Email Appliances now enable the enforcement of appropriate email policies for all locations, departments, and users within the organization regardless of the particular directory services used.  This new capability also allows full LDAP attribute and query configuration along with the ability to utilize failover servers.

Also available – integration with Syslog!
Compliance and eDiscovery requirements are pushing organizations to ensure they have full access to any and all information associated with both internal and external communications. As of the 3.4.1.0 release, Sophos Email Appliances provided support for integration with Syslog systems, enabling full data mining and audit trail visibility into the administration and help desk activities on the appliance (an important compliance requirement!). Syslog system integration also enables specific event monitoring using standard Security Event and Incident Management (SEIM) tools as well as the creation of custom reports using standard reporting tools.
