  • Hi,

Please contact our support team so that they can assist via the backend and determine why encrypted messages via a proxy is not able to be delivered.

  • Hi Azwan,

I had a look at you the logging in your support case.  It indicates that the test messages were successfully encrypted and delivered to your upstream smtp relay.

You can see the message details in 'Search > Mail Logs' on the SEA.  There should be a 'Delivered' section which will show the IP the message was delivered to (Your upstream smtp relay).  This will also show you the response from the relay, usually with a message ID.

I'd recommend to check the logging on your upstream relay to see what happened to the message.  Also, are there any settings on the relay that might remove an SPX message?  For example, rules that block specific attachment types (PDF) or unscannable attachments will interfere with SPX messages.

Sorry we couldn't be of more help but you may need to contact the vendor for your upstream mail filter/proxy.

    Thanks,
    Tom.

  • I have recently setup mail appliance and ahce rules set.

One of the rule is block some attachement type .

One of the user is sending an attachement wiht .txt and the appliance is blocking it. .txt is allowed it is not in the block list at all.

the file attachent is a certificate file (Original extention is .der) But the user is renaming the file with .txt and sending it an email attachemnt. But gets blocked/quarentined at the appliance,.

some body have faced such issue.

    thanks

  • Hello,

Renaming a file does not necessary change the detection.  Our software scans the file for suspect content.  We do not just alone look at the file extension as malicious users can then just send a file attached to a message with a possible virus or potentially unwanted application.

  • Hi azwan,

Can you share with us your current email topology ? and do you have different server as email encryptor ?

  • HI Rahmatn,

Regarding this case my email topology is straight forward without any encryption server except Sophos Email Appliance.

However we must configure email server to use telco public smtp server to avoid spam  blacklist IP. Thanks
