Request for Sophos Web Appliance Allow HTTP Headers

Hi,

Good day.

Currently, we do managed our network by using Sophos Web Appliance v3.9. The SWA acts as the proxy server and was deployed using group policy. We do also have internal web server that will be hosting a cloud-FTP site. This webserver is open-source and we are currently developing some of the codes.

One of our major targets is to log the "IP Address / HTTP headers  requests / computer name" for the users will be connecting on the cloud-FTP server. But the problem is I'm getting the proxy IP address, I would like for header request to be exempted on SWA. Is this possible or may I ask what would be the best solution?

I've already added the site on globally allowed site still the same output. I'm currently searching for alternative configuration.

Hoping for your immediate good response. Thank you.

  • Hi itc-superuser,

Since the appliance will always re-request the orginal request from the client to the web server, you will always see the requesting IP as the Web Appliance.  My suggestion would be to add a proxy exemption to your setting you push out using GPO and bypass the Web Appliance completely for requests to this particular server.

    Hope that helps,

    Petr.
