PureMessage - Blocking Scan to Email via SMTP

Hello We have several printers that offer the Scan to email service but since installing and starting the SMTP Scanning on Sophos PureMessage Activity Monitor, it reduces spam significantly but also serves to prevent the Scan to Email function working on the printers. Has anyone else had this experience and how was it resolved? Also under Activity Monitor under Activity for Server - SMTP tab it would appear that 0 Messages are being processed, is this normal?
