One user being hit with large amounts of the same spam.

Got a strange problem here.

PureMessage 3.0.2.0

Out of my 25 users here one of them is being hit more more spam than anyone else.

They are receiving 25 - 30 of the same spam email in there inbox over a 2 minute period. I have checked puremessage and it is catching some of them but not all.

I have checked all my rule and filters and there are no exceptions setup for this user.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

  • We had an issue similar to the one you are describing.  We found that the user was a member of a group with a "special" processing rule.  We identified it by analysing the headers.

    If you only have 25 users,  couldnt you set the pmx debug level to 9 and watch th rules as they fire?
