Why would Sophos Web Protection classify http://www.beanshell.org/ as Entertainment?

A number of time Sophos Web Protection has blocked sites that are very obviously tech blogs or tech sites. I frequent Ruby and Java related blogs/sites the most so those are the ones most often blocked. Sometimes it is obvious that the domain or a parent domain had non-work related content, but in the case of http://www.beanshell.org/ I don't see anything that could indicate that it is an Entertainment site.

  • Given the challenge of trying to categorize the Internet, there can be some conflicts or unexpected results. Scanning methods, customer feedback, and site content can all have an effect on the categorization data.

The best thing to do with incorrectly categorized sites, is to submit a reassessment request:

    secure2.sophos.com/.../reassessment-request.aspx

You can add comments to the request form, to give SophosLabs more information about your findings, if desired. Allow up to 5 days for the change to be made. After that time, if there are still issues, please contact support, and we can follow-up.
