Forms Authentication - Multiple Virtual Servers

I am currently evaluating UTM 9.4 and don't seem to be able to find a specific answer to this.

We have 2 virtual web servers, 2 real web servers, both using Forms reverse authentication.

I want to be able to log into the first, and then go to the second without having to authenticate again.

Is this possible? currently if i switch to the second site, it takes me back to the logon form.

This would be a real pain for users for the likes of Sharepoint... switching between the Intranet / Teams / MySites and having to logon each time.

  • Thanks for replying to this.

I have configured a single virtual web server with 2 domain names. e.g. testing.domain.com and testing2.domain.com

2 real servers, pointing to the internal address of testing and testing2 (actually the same server with 2 sites similar to SharePoint setup)

IIS is configured to listen on those names.

    Log into testing, works fine.

Go to testing2... also works fine but you still need to log in again.

Also tried the Virtual web server with a wildcard cert and *.domain.com and get the same result.

I guess what I am expecting is a "Pre-Authentication" situation like TMG does...

I have come to the conclusion that its not the same.

Thanks for the welcome and advice Bob I get what you are saying,

I am OK mucking around with this stuff myself before getting too carried away, but this is the only issue I have really come across.
