Exchange 2016 / RPC over HTTPS not working

Hello,

we have an issue regading the publishing of Exchange 2016 Webservices (Autodiscover, etc)

The configuration looks like this: http://networkguy.de/?p=998 but we receive the following errors, when

we try to access the services from the Internet through Sophos WAF:

[proxy_msrpc:error] [pid 8856:tid 4071558000] [client xxx.xxx.229.243:62457] RPC_OUT_DATA: server 1x.x.x.149:443 (1x.x.x.149) did not accept initial PDU (HTTP status code 503)
[proxy_msrpc:error] [pid 31857:tid 3876531056] [client xxx.xxx.229.243:51726] RPC_IN_DATA: Failed to sync Outlook Session 0c64a14d-e4e6-861d-1632-b8bde47d31e4: 2
[proxy_msrpc:error] [pid 31857:tid 3876531056] [client xxx.xxx.229.243:51726] RPC_IN_DATA: The registered Outlook Session 0c64a14d-e4e6-861d-1632-b8bde47d31e4 is in unexpected state 'BROKEN'

The target  (1x.x.x.149) is an internal netscaler Loadbalacing.

Any ideas on this ?

FW installed : 9.406-3

Btw: i found the following Post :

I am frustrated that this is still an issue with firmware 9.4.

Still a Bug ???

Best Regards,

micha

  • Hallo Micha,

Whenever I see a status code 503, I suspect that disabling anti-virus might resolve the issue.  What do you see in the Web Application Firewall log at the same time as the above logs?

You might check against How to configure the UTM firewall for Microsoft Exchange connectivity to see if there's a trick that Michel missed - or maybe seeing it described by a different person will tip you off to something you overlooked in Michel's prescription.

    Cheers - Bob
