Incorrect logon notification from WAF forms authentication

Hi,

Hopefully i'm just being blind and not seeing whats in front of me.

when using forms authentication if you enter incorrect details, or incorrectly formatted details, you just get dumped back at the logon page with no indication of what went wrong. is there a way to have 401 or other logon errors actually notify users of why their logon didnt work, sort of like every other logon form ever created for any product ever?

thanks

  • we have tried using the customised form with a section defining the relevant codes, however this seems to also make no difference.

is there any defined guidance about exactly what should be put into the form?

alternatively, is there something special that has to be enabled on the UTM to allow the form to see the returned error codes?

  • Peter,

You are not the only one looking for this info.  For what ever reason either no one is using a custom for with errors or its not possible.  Very frustrating no literature or no responses on this.

    Thanks,

    Daniel
