HTTPS access using SSL Certificate for web admin portal

Hello,

Could anyone please tell me process on how to securely access SOPHOS UTM from outside the network without the HTTPS web page error? What kind of certificate do we have to import in SOPHOS UTM 425? Thank you.

Hi Chrislangford,

just import the Web Admin CA certificate in your browser. See attached image.

I did that but certificate installs but error is still there in browser.

Which version?

What error(s)? (Self signed, missing/unknown intermediate, date, etc)

Have you run something like https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/ (check the "Do not show the results on the boards.")?

Hi,

Its version 9.210

Certificate error while entering public IP or hostname

Publip IP : https://1.1.1.2:4444 prompts error in certificate while using chrome or explorer have to proceed any way.

Hostname: https://SOPHOS_UTM_HO:4444 prompts same error have to proceed anyway

Above are example scenarios.

Hi Chrislangford,

I guess that the FQDN listed in Webadmin certificate is not matching your external hostname.

That is the reason why IE and Chrome are prompting for certificate errors when you use hostname (access via IP will always prompt for error).
Firefox should be Ok, once you add the certificate to it's exception list.
