Https -> http

Hello,
I have a Webserver, which can not run on HTTPS.

Is it possible to use HTTPS on External Interface and the UTM is translating HTTPS protocol to HTTP and pass the traffic to the Webserver in the DMZ?

Thanks,
Stefan

  • Hello Stefan,

    yes, this is possible. You just configure the virtual webserver with HTTPS and the real webserver (in the DMZ) with HTTP. The UTM makes the translation.

    It is also possible to add authentication even if your real webserver does not provide it.

    Best,
     Sabine
  • Stefan, do you have a certificate for the FQDN?

  • yes, I have a cert for
    *.company.com
  • Stefan, just upload that cert to the UTM and select it when defining your Virtual Server, and then follow Sabine's prescription.
