User's IP visible to protected server?

Is there a way to pass the clients IP to the server?

I have a web application that blocks the IP of users who enters bad credentials too many times. But the IP it blocks is the IP of the gateway, not the client.

This takes down my entire site for 10 min until the ban is lifted [:)]

See if you can block based on the http header information (x-forwarded-for IP I think) instead of the source ip. If you are reverse proxying, the IP source will always be your gateway/reverse proxy.

You should be able to read the variable in ASP code using Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_x-forwardedfor")
