Publishing Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016

When publishing the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 webclient clients users receive an error when they want to upload files. During the upload process the client's browser downloads a DynamicFileUpload.axd file and the Dynamics NAV webclient crashes. This only happens when publishing the NAV webclient though UTM. When doing a DNAT to the webclient server directly it works fine. The issue seems to be UTM.

When using Microsoft WAP from Windows Server 2016 and DNAT'ting to this server it also works fine, but I'd rather use UTM due to the extra checks and safety.

Any idea on how to get this working? I've also tried publishing without any firewall profile, but this doesn't solve the issue.

  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 has never been discussed here, Franc.  Do you see anything in the Web Application Firewall log that might help analyze this?

  • Hi Bob,

Unfortunately not. No errors, the log just reports that the .axd file is downloaded by the client.

  • My best guess is that the server doesn't like the disruption caused by the UTM doing AV on the uploaded file.  What happens if you disable AV scanning for that virtual server?

  • Hi Bob,

thanks for the response, but I already tried publishing the website without assigning any firewall profile (and thus, to my knowledge, also disabling virusscanning), even then it doesn't work.
