AWS autoscaling support

We are trying to deploy demo UTM with the auto-scaling feature in our AWS environment. however, we just noticed that UTM implement in autoscaling will support only WAF but in another documentation, we found that we can configure firewall policy for outgoing traffic along with outbound gateways in Autoscaling deployment. hence we got confused now. whether to go-ahead with the deployment or not. Our requirement is pretty simple and straight forward. the UTM will be the perimeter gateway for both ingress and egress traffic including the auto scaling feature. thanks in advance.

  • You can do this one of two ways.  First you can change the default route for the VPC to be the Queen interface or you can use the UTM Outbound Gateway.  The key is in defining the routing table.

Note that you will have 3 firewalls.  A queen and at least two workers.

  • Hi, Rajit, and welcome to the UTM Community!

  • Dear Ranjithkumar,

Thank you very much in your interest in the UTM on AWS.

Please see the following sections of our UTM on AWS Quick Start Guide for further details:

    • Section 3.3 of which covers both the inbound and the outbound scenario of the Auto Scaling deployment
    • Section 7 covers the Auto Scaling deployment with the WAF scenario for inbound
    • Section 7.5 covers the Outound Gateway functionality of the Auto Scaling feature

Maybe you can describe your use cases more in detail so that the community or myself can assist you and give you further guidance.

    Best wishes,
