Hi,
is there any reason why you haven't upgraded to the latest release?
Any indications as to swap size might be more the issue?
Otherwise you could search the various forums for some very long threads on swap and swap size.
XG115W - v20.0.3 MR-3 - Home
XG on VM 8 - v21 GA

old UTM's are installed with only small swapspace.
with v9 there is a command to resize swap within running system.
i would suggest:
- upgrade to most current version (see rfcat_vk)
- export backup
- reinstall slave-node (from CD)
- rejoin cluster / wait to sync is complete
- reinstall other-node (from CD)
- rejoin cluster
you get a clean system and current partitioning

2017 is the last year you can renew your UTM licenses. 2018 is EOL.

you should consider to upgrade your hardware.
SG550 is the recommended successor for your system.
How different are your UTM's, so you can not upgrade?
Cluster with different releases from one device-type should be supported with v9 too.

ask your sophos partner again.
as i know different releases (with different memory) are not a problem.

Hi, and welcome to the UTM Community!
To really understand if you're having an issue, you need to look at top from the command line. I bet you will see that you have a high %wa along with a high %sy on the 4GB unit. Is this Active/Active or Active/Passive (Hot-Standby)?
