Endpoint protection not working since a long time

Since a long time Endpoint protection on my Sophos Home (currently 9.355, but problem exists already for several months) doesn't work as expected.

PC's that are already configured seem to keep working and get updates, but downloading the new client and then installing it to a new PC will not work; the new PC doesn't get updates and also doesn't get registered in Endpoint protection.

Also in endpoint protection I constantly see the message Liveconnect is disabled. I have tried all sort of things and even tried to completely turn it off and back on. When I do this using "Keep all data". I can switch it off and back on, but everything seems to stay the same. When I choose "Delete all data" it will almost everytime do nothing at all (no screen updates, no error messages) and doesn't even turn off. Sometimes when I use this option I get the following failure:

Socket failed, error connecting to Live Connect broker. After this error message, endpoint protection is still ON and unfortunately not working as expected.

Anyone have a clue in to how to get this back working again? It will be no problem to loose the current data since it's only a couple of installed endpoints that I quickly reinstall.

  • Try to install the slim installer instead.

E.g. don't use the "Download Endpoint Installation Package Now" Button but copy paste the link displayed.
I had open a case with Sophos, they told me to use the slim installer download in order to have it work again.

  • Unfortunately this doesn't solve the problem. It looks like there is something wrong with the servers that my UTM is trying to contact with.
