How do I uninstall Sophos antivirus/protection program?

I am hoping I have the right place.. I have been so disgusted with Sophos. I got it installed when I bought the PC.. I let Staples talk me into it and believing it was so great. Well, it wasn't anything McAfee was (that I had before). Anyway, long story short...I want a different antivirus/protection program...so.. how do I un-install Sophos? I have done the Programs/Uninstall etc way that I uninstall everything else and it wouldn't take it off.  I talked to somewhere at Sophos and they said I had to take  my PC back to Staples since that is where I got it and have them take it off. I can't take  the PC back to Staples for a few reasons, plus... why do I have to pay to have them take it off?

Does anyone know how to uninstall it? I have Win 7 on an HP PC.  I am novice so the "version for dummies" would be appreciated.

    CB, you need to take a deep breath - I just searched for remove endpoint on Scott's link and found two relevant articles on the first page of results.

    If you expected Sophos Endpoint to work like McAfee, it doesn't.  Several of us here have replaced McAfee at customer sites with Sophos Endpoint and improved their end-users' satisfaction.  You will be more effective with a tool you know than with a new one.  I would urge you to let Staples know that their employee wasn't trained well enough to help you.
