Virus scanning overrides QoS - takes 100% bandwidth

Since I'm on a slow connection (3 Mbps in the area I'm in, even for businesses) I have QoS configured and it's working great.

However, when users download a file that gets scanned by the UTM it will download that file full-throttle, taking 100% of the bandwidth. Is there a way to limit the bandwidth those user-initiated downloads take? Ideally they would have the same limit as the bandwidth pool that initiates the download.

  • Hi Arie,

maybe your rule does not match because the UTM communcate with another address.
Try it with any or maybe the external address from the UTM.

If this not solve your problems can you show us your QoS rules?

    Best Regards
