How to set policy to not update on VDI deployments like VMware View

Hi. I've tried figuring this out but cannot. We have a VMware view environment where the base image has Sophos Endpoint installed from the Cloud installer. I know about updating the registration and such so that each system is treated as a new build. This works and the machines show up in the cloud portal.

The issue is I can't figure out how to create a policy just for these VDI systems (normal laptops/desktops won't need this policy), that doesn't try to update the application when updates are available but just does the definitions. For an updated client/application we'd update the base image only because the VDI machines are rebuilt upon logoff so them updating to the latest is pointless. But the definitions are worth it as the user may be logged in for a while and using the latest defs is worht the extra bandwidth.

Hope this makes sense. Any step by step article would be great.
