installation problems

hi,
I got a problem with the third step during
the installation of ASL v.1.8 and can't install the program.
Please could anybody tell me where can I find a complete hardware requirement for ASL?
Actually my fw should be:
PII 266MH 128Mb ram Hd 3.2Gb and 2 Intel
PRO/100+ Management boards.
When the installation run the router must be present and connect to the fw? thanks in advance.
P.S.: I'm very newbie about Linux

I want be more specific about the error during the installation prog.:
at step 3 of 7 when it starts to detect network cards the blue screen disappear and a text of 4 strings tell me :
1)hdd: command error : status=0X51
{ DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
2)hdd : command error : error=0X54
3)end request: I/O error ,dev 16:40 (hdd),
sector 251248
4)grep: /usr/share/pci.lst: Input/Output
error.
What does it mean all of this;
please, can anybody explain me?

Hi Micio,

You can only install ASL on 'hda' (must be IDE drive not SCSI).

You're installing on 'hdd'.

looks like a question for 1.8 support...
Please next posting to the correct forum.

It looks like your CDROM ist hdd, please post all hardware specifications about the CDROM you know.
