I know this is a pretty ambiguous and vague question, but can anyone give me an idea of what sort of throughput I'm likely to get from Astaro, or what sort of power machine is needed.
My network runs internally at 100mbit, as does its outgoing link, and flow typically averages between 10 and 20 Gb a day. Current firewall runs on Drawbridge on a slowish P120 which works but I suspect causes some throttling problems at peak loads. I want to replace the machine but haven't decided what with. Played around with Astaro but only on a test network segment so its only seen a small percentage of network traffic, and a firewall isn't just something I can plug in in place of the existing one without spending a fair while reimplementing rules...
Bottom line is: can Astaro handle it? Does having the virus checking and intrusion detection systems running impact into its performance?
