PGP for Astaro as new feature

Hi,
I have a suggestion for a new feature:
Wouldn't it be fine if astaros smtp server would de- and entcrypt mails with pgp?

Is anyone else looking for such a feature or am I the only one with this problem?

We have a network with about 50 Users and our mailserver even can't scan emails for viruses (now astaro does) and there is no plugin for PGP. So I have to install the PGP Desktop Security on every machine (sucks).

    it's me again.
    One thing:
    It doesn't make sense if astaro scans the mails send through it if they are pgp encrypted.

    You are right, that scanning pgp encrypted email is useless.
    Technicaly it is no problem implementing server side PGPen/decryption.
    But for that you have to save your privat key on the firewall and you have to disable the passphrase or save it there too.
    And this is not secure.

    Doing that, you can't be sure anymore that your are the only person reading this email.
    Even it is a firewall, its not 100% secure.
    Only 99,999%, or so   [;)]

    That es why we decided not to implement this feature.

    We are always open for improvements.
