Use Access Point Sophos in a Standalone mode

Hello,

We need to perform wifi audits with sophos access points. I would like to be able to connect a computer to an SSID on an access point without the access point communicating with Sophos Central. How can I do ? Currently, when the access point is not communicating with Sophos Central, the SSID is not visible.

Are Sophos Access Points able to operate in a stand-alone mode?

THANKS.

  • For most of the older (ATH7/ATH10 based) access points a openwrt solution exists.

If you audit only hardware, not software this may be sufficient.

Otherwise use a local instance of Sophos UTM (can be virtual) to span your SSID.
