Wireless site survey - Mac Address

Hi Guys

I was not able to find the Mac address of Wireless Interfaces on Sophos APs. It's my first time performing a survey in a centralized Sophos wireless network in a XG Firewall.

As the environmental is big, I could really be sure about which AP I was connected to. Do you guys know if there is a way to find this information?

  • Hello Estefano,

you login to your XG firewall, go to "Protect / Wireless", then to the tab "Access points" and then you have the list of Accesspoints and one of the columns is "MAC".

    There they are.

  • Oh, I can see the MAC address from the LAN connection, but while conducting the site survey, I could see a completely different MAC Address from the WLAN interfaces.

Usually Access Points have 2 Mac Address. One to LAN and another to WLAN. This mac address from WLAN connection, I couldn't find.

  • I understand - you want to know to which AP your client is connecting. This you can view there, too. Go to "Wireless client list", then click on the SSI you are connecting to and then you can search for your client at the right AP.

  • I got it. I was not sure which AP I was connected to, no labors or led flash option to check.  And in a wireless site survey it's very important information. So it's a shame.

    Thanks for you help.
