Overview
This recommended read describes the steps to uninstall the SSL CA Certificate from the browser and the computer. This is required if a different certificate is installed or if the certificate is incorrectly configured.
Untrusting & Uninstalling
1. Untrust the certificate from the browser.
- Microsoft Edge
- Open the menu bar and click Settings
- Go to Privacy, search and services > Scroll down to Security
- Click Manage Certificates
- Click Remove to untrust Security Appliance SSL CA.
Firefox
- From the Firefox Menu bar, click Settings
- Click Privacy and Security
- Scroll down to Certificates and open View Certificates
- Click Delete or Distrust to untrust Security Appliance SSL CA.
Google Chrome
- Enter
chrome://settings/security
in the address bar and click Enter. - Click Privacy and Security>Security.
- Scroll down to Advanced and open Manage Certificates
- Click Remove to untrust Security Appliance SSL CA.
Safari
- Go to Application>Utilities>Keychain Access
- Select the login keychain, then select My Certificates from the list in the lower pane.
- Click Delete Security Appliance SSL CA.
2. Delete the certificate from the computer.
- Open Run.
- Enter
mmc
and click OK. - Click File > Add/Remove Snap-in.
- Select Certificates and click Add.
- Select Computer account > Click Next > Click Finish.
- Close the list of snap-ins.
- Click OK to add the certificate snap-in.
- Select Security Appliance SSL CA in Certificates (Local Computer) > Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Certificates.
- Right-click Security Appliance SSL CA and click Delete to remove the Certificate from the Trusted Root Authority Container.
