Network Configuration Issues

Hi all,

I've a networking novice and need advice from the experts. So apologies in advance for asking what may be very elementary questions. Here's my setup:

Cable Modem === XG Firewall === Cisco RV320 Router === Cisco SB200 Switch === PCs/Clients

The XG Firewall can acquire its IP from the cable modem just fine. However, I cannot seem to get the router and the firewall to communicate, even when I set the LAN zone IP to same subnet. I'm certain it has to do with the configuration of the router itself. I've tried the WAN port and one of the LAN ports; setting the router to Routing Mode (opposed to Gateway); setting the WAN port to the static IP of the firewall's LAN zone...nothing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Jeff

  • Jeff,

    in order to help you we need more information. Anyway I suppose that the XG is configured in Routing mode.

    If it is the case, did you use a cross-over cable between Router and XG?

    Also you can remove the router and manage vlan using XG.

    If the XG is deployed in Bridge mode, it should work with no big issue but we need more info regarding what have you done on yout XG.

    Waiting for more info.

    Thanks.
