Cant delete network interfaces

Hi,

I have gone through a transition from one www provider to another.

I am now trying to tidy up the interface list.

The interface is now unbound, but is still showing a couple of the ip addresses on the interface. One would be the one set to it, and the other is an alias.

I am unable to remove the last alias, probably because it is still stored somewhere, but I cant find it in a policy, nat rule, ip host etc.

Is there another way I can find where this IP address is stored, like interrogating the backup file from the firewall?

    Hi Richard,

    The immediate thought is that you can export the configuration as a XML file via System | Administration | Import Export.

    Once you extract the XML file from the subsequent TAR file you should be able to open it in your favorite editor (for example Notepad++) or even a web browser. from here you can simply search for the IP Address and identify the entities associated with it.

    I have done that, however whilst the IP(s) are listed in the file, they only appear once where the aliases are listed. I still cant remove them.

    I suppose I could remove the sections from the file, and import the settings, but I am somewhat anxious about what will occur.
