Thunderbird SPX Encryption Add-on

If anyone is interested I have created an add-on for Thunderbird that will set the proper header to trigger SPX encryption on both the SG and XG UTM and also set the Sensitivity of a message to Confidential.

You can download the Add-On from here...

Mozzilla Add-ons Site

If you have difficulty with the above link you can get the file here and manually install it...

If you don't know how to install an add-on in Thunderbird go to Tools -> Add-ons, then on the Add-ons page select the little gear next to the search field and pick Install Add-on from File from the menu.

  • What versions of Thunderbird is this compatible with?   I'm running Thunderbird 31.7.0 on Linux and get a message about

"Sensitivity Header + SPX could not be installed because it is not compatible with Thunderbird 31.7.0" when trying to install this add-on.

Sorry, versions 37 to 43 is what the original add-on was written for, it could possibly be modified to install on earlier versions but the code may not work as intended if at all.

  • ok... thanks... I hadn't realized quite how out of date my Thunderbird install was :)   I updated and the plugin works quite nicely now.  thank you!
