Outgoing/Incoming traffic from Different LAN Subnet

I have setup a different LAN subnet (192.168.2.0/24) for a guest wireless network and it connects back to my XG 230 on Port 3. So I have two wireless networks, one for just laptops, a private network (10.1.1.0/24) and one guest network. If i connect to the private network my Maas 360 app connects to the email server just fine and pulls email in and allows me to send email out but as soon as i connect to that guest network of 192.168.2.0/24 it won't allow any communication out or in on that app. I am able to browse the internet without issue on that guest network though.

Any ideas on what I am missing? I assume it's a firewall policy or maybe a static route I need to setup but I don't want the traffic between those two different networks  to communicate at all.

  • I would suspect that if the Maas 360 app needs to connect to your email server that you will need to create the User/Network policy to allow the traffic from the Guest Wireless Network to the mail server.

If the application is hosted on the web confirm that you are able to ping by hostname, could just be a simple DNS issue and a loop back/FULL NAT needs to be put in place.

Is your mail server configured with a send connector to send mail to Maas360?

Can you provide some additional information on the current mail flow?
  • Yeah needed to add the LAN as a source of traffic to the already WAN Inbound rule I created for our E-Mail server. Once i did that anybody on that other subnet was able to sync up just fine.
