we used a virtual xg sophos firewall in our datacenter. The firewall have 4 Cores and 6 GByte RAM. The vm is running on a seperate esxi 6.0 host.
The performance with our 1 GBit/s WAN Connection is poor. With the firewall we get a transferrate from 3 MByte/s and without we get 20 MByte/s. We tested the performance with multipe remotesites and protocols (FTP, Samba, ...)
