Why can't I change the clientless group policies after it has been created ?

I have noticed that I can't change policies of Clientless Group after it has been created. There is no such restriction for normal groups. Am I missing something? I can't see the reason for such behaviour.

  • Ok, I have found an answer - for Clientless Groups I can't set some policies which I can for Normal Groups.

  • I think this might change in the next release from comments passed about the clientless users. I think their thinking was very limited and short sighted. Not everyone wants to or needs to create users in the firewall. Think small businesses without an AD or only MAC based, think various servers that need to access the web for updates. Even being able to identify a clientless user by name rather than IP address, all very small but important things especially if you want to sell this product?

  • You've nailed it but I woudn't call it sort sighted as I don't know their business plan. Maybe they just don't have enough income from smaller clients so they concentrate on bigger features but that's just a guess...
