How can I install XG Firewall on VMware Fusion or Workstation?

I'm unable to connect as I can't set the IP address as explained for ESX(i). Any suggestions?

  • SFOS boots for the first time with a "magic" IP 172.16.16.16 and DHCP on that interface. There may be a conflict if you try to bind default LAN interface to VMware interface with DHCP enabled.

Try disabling DHCP on VMware application - you can find how in VMware KB.

You can also try setting IP manually to 172.16.16.17 for example.

The easiest way to configure SFOS is to create a VM with a desktop OS - Ubuntu for example - and configure SFOS from within the VM. I successfuly did it this way after disabling DHCP on VMNet1 interface in Fusion.
