Managed Access Points

I now that Sophos sells managed accesspoints. That's a great solution for businesses but as I'm a home Software XG user, I was thinking if it would be possible to control access points running OpenWRT. I have a TP-Link SOHO router which I flashed with OpenWRT and it is working as AP with a switch. It would be nice if I could control it using SFOS.

  • You can google Sophos AP15 and get some links to purchase pretty quickly. They are priced at the mid-high-end for SOHO routers. Alternatively you can ebay a used AP10/30/50. Or most home routers have AP modes you can enable. I agree the higher end options are not necessarily home oriented, but remember this is not marketed to home users. Instead its a bit of a unicorn where where home users provide important feedback and gain experience while getting access to software and features we normally would never be able to afford.
