those manufacturers you have identified most of them work, though they do not perform to the same level as the intel devices. I recommend a search of the Sophos KBAs where you will learn much.

And also, any recommendations for Intel ones, maybe lower price possible.

Intel, anything but i219,225 or 226.

The consequences depend on your wan link speed and number of users. In most cases you won't notice any performance hits.

I suspect it will work looking at the age of the chips and being a server designed card.
