"Could not associate packet to any connection." from smart tv causing apps to hang

I have been having an issue where my smart tv hangs when apps first start up. It hangs for...several minutes sometimes. Checking my firewall logs, this is the reason, and after the several minute hang, everything works, which makes sense since it's now reset all of it's connections. From reading the forums I gather this issue is usually indicative of a problem with the client (i.e. my TV), but I think this is just normal behavior for a smart tv, to have long lived connections like this. Is there a way to bypass the stateful inspection of traffic for just my smart tv? I know this might be a "bad idea" but it's on a segregated network so I'm not terribly concerned about something malicious.

Has anybody else experienced this, and if so what do you do to fix the problem?

  • Currently I have it on my IoT network, so it's allowed out without restriction (I tried just allowing all traffic before posting here to see if that was the problem) but same issue. It shows that firewall rule 0 is what's blocking...so just default behavior. More detail below:

it's on my IoT VLAN, connected wirelessly
    no port restrictions out
    no traffic shaping or QoS
no DPI or other firewall monitoring
using cloudflare DNS of 1.1.1.2 and 1.0.0.2
