Username disappears in SSL VPN connection - XGS3100

Hi all,

I have a problem with - at the moment reportedly - two users. They can establish a VPN connection successfully and every works well. However after sometime the username information gets lost, i. e. the username field in the log is shown as empty by then. If they lock their screen and log in again, the username shows up again. This is particularly a problem for us as we use the username for web filtering rules. As soon as the username disappears/gets lost the rules won’t work anymore and access to allowed sites is blocked. I need to fix this asap before more and more users come up with this problem. Any hint/help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Daniel

  • I just have to add that this seems to be a problem with STAS (I assume this is what CTA in Authentication log means). I can see that the user is being logged off after 15 minutes while the VPN connection is still running. For testing purposes I have now disabled “Enable user inactivity” in the STAS settings (it was set to 600 min/100 bytes before). Interestingly the currentyl affected user is still on the “Live users” list in the STAS GUI on the windows server with login time about an hour ago. To me this does not really make sense.
