Cannot use web proxy on port 3128 from SSLVPN

Really strange, it used to work and I could use the interal web proxy on port 3128 when connected via SSL-VPN (not "full gateway", only my LAN network is routed via tunnel).

Since a couple of months that is not working anymore. Tried checked different things like "Appliance access" giving VPN network access to Web Proxy which was enabled.

Strangely, I can telnet from my VPN connected PC into port 3128 on the gateway address of the Sophos Firewall and get a connection. Just web browsing using the Web Proxy is timing out.

  • What do you mean by "VPN access rules"? If its the rule allowing traffic from VPN Zone to WAN Zone, then yes, that has the green "WEB" icon active with the default policy. It does not matter if I switch between DPI and Web Proxy (I guess as I use the designated proxy as per Web - General Settings - Web Proxy)

What I do see in the logfile is that access to the web proxy port 3128 is allowed when I try to access a website on the internet.
