New Setup Issues (Fresh Install)

Hello Everyone,

I am a new user of Sophos Firewall for Home, unfortunately I am encountering a few issues. I have managed to get an internet connection on it but I am unable to register it and getting the following error - Can't connect to the registration service.

I tried this article but it does not work for me https://support.sophos.com/support/s/article/KB-000045843?language=en_US

I managed to configure my 3 VLAN’s which are working successfully. But my Webserver is not getting access to the outside world even with the NAT and Firewall rule configured.

Also, I have a red icon stating that the webproxy is not working either. I'm not sure if some things are disabled due to not being able to register it.

If there are any tutorials for webserver setup on the firewall it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

  • Hi Ian,

I use a company called Hyperoptic (UK) which connects to a static IP via DHCP. I have internet access on the firewall just not sure why the registration service is not working or why the webproxy says it's dead.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

could be any one of a number of reasons but usually because the ports are blocked by your ISP.

Please check the ISP does not block or only blocks port 25.

  • Hi,

I don't think they do as I have pfsense already setup on my network with a web server and everything runs fine. I have asked the support team to confirm if they block any ports etc. Unfortunately, it may take a week or two for them to respond.
