Important Note on EOL Sophos RED Support:

The legacy EOL RED 15, RED 15w, and RED 50 are not supported in v20 MR1. Customers using these devices should upgrade to SD-RED or a smaller XGS appliance before upgrading to MR1 to maintain connectivity. See the following article for details: Sophos RED: End-of-life of RED 15/15(w) and RED 50

  • - Does this allow to remap single vlan-interfaces to another port as well?
    - Can this be used to change port-mapping on same device? e.g to move from 1G to 10G port? Or will assistant only show up, if different model detected?
    - Improvements on Interface <> Hardware mapping within webadmin as well? (change as easy as in utm/sg) If not - planned?
(Yes i'm aware of xml export-import - but that's more manual work)

  • Overall, a backup restore helps to move from A to B on same box or after migration.
it will not help you to move a virtual single interface, if there are multiple VLANs. This is still a xml use case.

keep in mind, a restore means, the appliance will reboot.
