VPN on Android, can access LAN by IP but not Name

On my phone connected via OVPN I can access local network resources by IP but name resolution won't work.

VPN: SSL VPN (remote access)
I have Policy Members setup
Use as default gateway is on
Permitted network sources IPv4 is set to my local LAN

VPN Settings
Protocol TCP
10.80.X.X
IPv4 DNS: 10.0.0.5 / 8.8.8.8

That DNS Server is the same as my LAN which is the 10.0.0.X/24 subnet.

Network > DNS: Checked Obtain DNS from DHCP
DHCP Primary DNS set to 10.0.0.5

    Hi @joe,

    can you please send us screen shot what error comes while accessing the local network by host name & how you are accessing the local server or network for example  using the Host name only or adding the domain name also I.e.. DBSERVE01 or DBSERVE01@xyz.com

    Not a screenshot, but if I access any server from the browser with it's name in the URL window it doesn't load, while it does if I use its IP address.  Says This site can't be reached  ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED.
