SSL VPN client for Mac

  • I am a Mac user, until today I used Sophos Connect for Mac version 1.4 (ipsec VPN)
I realized that there was a CVE on the Mac version of the application, but not on the Windows version, which has since been updated.
So I'm at a dead end.
My only option is to use SSL VPN with the OPenVPN client. I'm not against it, but I use a third party to connect to my network.
Yesterday I saw a video showing the use of another third party, Tunnelblick. (open source)
All this is not to knock Sophos, which has committed to updating SophosConnect for Mac in Q4, but to see with the community if there are other options.

Isn't handing over to third parties a bit light from a security point of view?

thanks in advance for your comments and perhaps ideas for other options.

  • Not sure if its the same but since today we can't even install Sophos Connect 1.4 for Mac.

    Sophos Connect_1.4_(IPsec).pkg

"Installation failed please ask the software vendor/dev"

  • we switched most clients from tunnelblick to openvpn. you eventually need to adjust some settings to get it working correctly.

one thing that is coming agin and again is that the Mac uses it's local DNS Server for FQDN that are inside the VPN.

    add

    block-outside-dns

    to ovpn file
