internal DNS Server get's requests from Sophos - don't know where from

Hi all,

sophos XGS3300 with SFPS 19.5.

In my internal network I want to decommission an old Windows Domain Controller.

That DC still logs multiple DNS requests from the Sophos (Azure Cloud and other requests) per Minute.

I removed that DC as Authentication server, removed it as DNS and delegating DNS server, from every DHCP and VPN setting.

But there are still DNS requests. Any idea where that comes from?

Thanks for hints and

regards Gernot.

  • Hi Gernot,

do you remove the server from firewalls dns-setting?

Check NAT for redirected DNS requests.

  • Sorry for delayed answer.

Server was not in DNS Server list. I didn't find NAT rules.

So I decommissioned the server. Any failure will show the way to the place where setup will be needed.

    Greeting Gernot
