Problem with HOME Edition SFO 20.0.0._GA-222.iso on a SOPHOS SG125 Rev.3

Hi,

I just bought a SG125 Rev.3 and trying to get it running. I followed the steps as recommend in the different threads and created a bootable device using

SW-19.5.3_MR-3-652.iso

and in the second try

SW-20.0.0_GA-222.iso

In both variants everything was going through smoothly from an intstallation perspective.

But in both cases I do not have a link to the Ethernet Ports 0 & 1.  As recommended I connected Eth0 with my PC using the 172xxx IP Eth1 with DHCP. Cables were switched I tried different NICs in the connected computers etc.

During the Boot process the Port link is orange and the Activitay for Eth1 is blinking green. So I assume it somehow is working.

Question is now what do I miss to get the Ports available so that I can start the configuration.  I also tried to activate the license via HDMI and Keyboard, but it says I do not have any internet connection.

I think it is only a small thing so looking for feedback / recommendations on what I am missing.

  • The SW version uses different port numbers than the HW version.  You will need to try the other ports (mine were ports 5 & 6) to find LAN/WAN with the remaining ports closed.  Once you have it connected you can then manually align the labelled LAN/WAN ports on the box with the internal numbering by manually renaming them in the Sophos firmware.
