Synchronous Flashing port lights

Hi all, first post here. We have an XG135 that's started this thing where the front port lights flash synchronously, tirelessly. We can' find anything wrong anywhere and there is connetivity everywhere on our network, but we're having weird issues with VOIP packets dropping under certain circumstances.

It's the activity light for ports 1 and 2 (LAN and WAN). They flash green about twice per second. Have power cycled everything we can; the connection lights are solid at all times. I don't remember seeing this behavior on any of our other UTMs, so I'm not sure if it's related or if it's trying to tell me something I can't understand.

And direction is much appreciated!

  • Hi,

on my  xg115w it means there is data passing between ports including the wan. Do you have multiple apple devices on different lan ports, they could be synch’ing and updating iCloud etc. what about device backups across the various networks?

    ian.

Extra thoughts:- could be server broadcasting etc

  • Are your LAN and WAN port bridged or are you using VLANs? You might have a spanning-tree loop in your network.
