Requirements

Hi everyone

I installed my Sophos Home on a Mini-PC but it does not shows my NICs up.

specs

  • Intel Celeron J4125
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 256 GB SSD
  • 4x 2.5 GBps LAN (i226-V)

Any idea what can solve my problem?

Thx

  • As told above, Sophos does not natively support your NICs.

What you can do is to install Proxmox on the device and install Sophos as a virtual machine on top of that. Proxmox does support the i226 nics and with 8 GB RAM you have enough to still give 6GB to your firewall which is the max for a home license.

  • Hi,

As I have expressed in another thread about the same mini-pc, I would be concerned about the j4125 being able to provide a 4 core XG as well as run the Proxmox VM environment. The j4125 is a 4 core 4 thread maximum CPU of 2ghz capable of bursting to 2.7ghz.

  • Hi

To be honest I don't want to setup the FW in a VM. I want to install it on a bare metall to avoid some possible issues and to keept the setup uncomplex.

  • Hi,

very few motherboards come with the non EUFI boot feature anymore.

You would need to look at a small motherboard where you can add your own NICs or buy an old XG unit from the internet and then instal the home licence on it.
